This afternoon as I left Ladbroke Grove (near Notting Hill) to head home, the transport authority had me blocked at every route it seemed!

I rode four stops to Edgware Road on the Hammersmith & City Line, where there was an announcement that the tube would terminate at the station and everyone had to switch. So I followed directions and went to platform 1 to ride the Circle Line to Baker Street (2 stops away). I had to change at Bond Street (1 stop from Baker St) to catch my line, the Jubilee Line, but when I got to Bond St, Jubilee Line was blocked at the next station so I had to change course again. I got on the Central line and road it one stop to Oxford Circus so I could instead connect with the Bakerloo line to Waterloo (4 stops).

Finally, an hour later, I arrived at Waterloo, which was just a 5 min walk from my home station of Southwark. But then, of all things, I could not figure out how to exit the station to get where I wanted to go. It was even more exasperating that I could see it, but not get to it. I finally asked a policeman what I was doing wrong. Apparently I was exiting on the wrong level and there was a whole set of streets below.

I finally arrived home after what normally takes 25min took an hour and a half!

Moral of the story?

Always check your TFL route planner before you go!
