I just happened to log on right 5 seconds after @Vogue_London tweeted this:

So I hit the retweet button and then checked the search for the hashtag.

Looky there! I was first. I waited a few minutes and then saw this pop up:

HURRAH! So I’m going to Cirque du Soleil tonight to see Varekai. I’m super excited. I’ve never had the opportunity to see a Cirque performance before. They are showing at Royal Albert Hall, which is a magnificent venue.

BUT WAIT! THERE’S MORE!!

About twenty minutes later, I saw a tweet from @LOVEFiLM about a special screening.

I didn’t read about the movie or see if there were extra details. I just figured I’d reply with Angelina Jolie:

Now I am on the guest list for a special multimedia screening of The Crazies, which looks scary despite the slightly unoriginal sounding plot. I have a conflict currently, so I’m seeing if I can switch things around so I can attend, assuming I can talk someone into going with me. I need someone who doesnt mind that I cover my eyes, plug my ears or dig my nails into their arm. Any takers?

When people ask me why I use Twitter, I give them a ton of reasons. Yesterday is a good example of why. Who doesn’t love winning a free night out? On the business side of it, Vogue and LOVEFiLM both received some extra tweets from me yesterday, along with the responses and RTs of many others during the competitions. Just as I won something from them yesterday, I hope they win something from me: followers from my list. I’ll be sure to tweet the love today and Monday to show my appreciation.

I added my hoots, hollers, heckles and hahas to Huge, a movie about a couple of comedians that is in post-production. It was shot around London at various comedy venues and they needed to boost the comedy club sounds. A tweet went out from the director, Ben Miller, and I responded to it and today, I made my way to the Middlesex (west-London-ish) sound studio where we recorded the ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement).

It was so nice to doing something like this again. It’s hard to fight the passion of production. One day I’ll give in again.

I attended a picnic today in Shoreditch Park for Macmillan Cancer Support. Thanks to Lewis Webb for putting it together. It was a great turn out and a lot of fun. More photos can be found on my Facebook page and eventually on Flickr too.

Along with others in the Twittersphere, we TwitPic-ed the blaze. Some of those photos also ended up on the Sky News homepage (which has since updated) as breaking news since crews had yet to arrive on scene to take their own snaps.

Just goes to show you how fast news travels when you’re plugged in.

Coming over from Kansas City, home of one of the largest St Pat’s Day parades, this whole day seems like such a non-event! Yes, there are parties tonight with a green theme and sponsored by Guinness, but it’s like a springtime Halloween party.

I hit two networking events with a subtle Paddy Day theme. The first was Open Soho at Kettners. The meet up was filled mostly of tech and PR folks. I didnt stay long before heading off to “dirtysouthtwit” – a south of the river meet up for Twitter users. At the venue, my friend Chris, who does PR for Diageo/Guinness, had shirts, hats, pins and pens galore!

Finally, I had my green shirt with Guinness logo! WOOHOOOO!! It’s always the little things… really.

I met lots of fascinating and well-connected folks and had an enjoyable time (once I got past the whole not knowing anyone and feeling like the friendless loser who crashed the party).

I decided that it was definitely an anything goes kind of day and that I should just say yes to any opportunity coming my way.

As I sat in the corner, speaking with a few people and updating my Twitter status indicating a rumbly in my tumbly, a lunch invitation was issued.

Hurrah! Food! New people. Ping Pong!

So I ended up joining James Whatley, Utku Can Akyuz, Jonathan MacDonald, Vikki Chowney, Bastian Lehmann, Renate Nyborg, Alfie Dennen, Kalam Ali, and  Dominic Travers for some dim sum. Most of these people are involved with a project called Every Single One of Us; and I hope to learn more about them at their upcoming session.

J-Mac was kind enough (hehe) to make a video of lunch, where I’m stuffing my face (in my defense, I hadnt had brekkie!), and uploaded it to YouTube for the world to see.

After the delightful lunch comes part II to Tuttle Gluttony, as I go shopping with Dominic.
