St Patrick’s Day
Whodathunkit, but today is not a day of shenanigans filled with leprechauns, shamrocks, green beer and pinching bums of the non-green wearing folk here! London does not subscribe to what I hear is a day mostly celebrated by Americans and Irish ex-pats!
Coming over from Kansas City, home of one of the largest St Pat’s Day parades, this whole day seems like such a non-event! Yes, there are parties tonight with a green theme and sponsored by Guinness, but it’s like a springtime Halloween party.
I hit two networking events with a subtle Paddy Day theme. The first was Open Soho at Kettners. The meet up was filled mostly of tech and PR folks. I didnt stay long before heading off to “dirtysouthtwit” – a south of the river meet up for Twitter users. At the venue, my friend Chris, who does PR for Diageo/Guinness, had shirts, hats, pins and pens galore!
Finally, I had my green shirt with Guinness logo! WOOHOOOO!! It’s always the little things… really.
Thanks to Lolly, one of our hosts, for this photo!
More of the dirtysouthtwit set can be seen in Kai’s photoset.
